Translation has played an increasingly important role in the development of human history. In the present context of globalization, we are happy to announce that the FIT Sixth Asian Translators’ Forum will be held in Macao, China, in 2010.
The FIT Asian Translators’ Forum is an international conference and a significant event in the Asian regional translation community. It is held every three years under the auspices of the International Translators’ Federation (FIT). The first forum was held in Beijing (1995), the second in Seoul, South Korea (1998), the third in Hong Kong (2001), the fourth in Beijing (2004) and the fifth in Bogor, Indonesia (2007).
The FIT Sixth Asian Translators’ Forum, to be co-organized by the Federation of Translators and Interpreters of Macau and the University of Macau, will be hosted by and at the University of Macau, from 6th to 8th November, 2010. About 250 participants from all over the world will be invited to attend the forum.
